Aoi Asahina
Aoi Asahina is the Ultimate Swimmer and she is one of the few survivors at the end of the game. She is energetic and friendly and was best friends with Sakura before Sakura's suicide. Due to Monokuma switching the suicide notes, Aoi was led to believe that Sakura committed suicide because of the others. This led to Aoi trying to trick the rest into thinking that someone else murdered Sakura, instead of a suicide. After the suicide was revealed, she insisted that she had murdered Sakura but Makoto managed to solve the case. Monokuma admitted that he switched the notes and read out the real note which had meant to tell Aoi that she had planned to commit suicide in order to bring back peace amongst the rest of the survivors and told Aoi to stay strong and live on. When Aoi was about to fall in despair, she thought back to Sakura, believing that she would have chose to leave the Academy and have hope instead of staying in the Academy and falling into despair. She, together with the rest of the survivors , joined the Future Foundation.
