Sayaka Maizono
Sayaka Maizono is the Ultimate Idol and she used to be in the same school as Makoto. She is shown to be a love interest for Makoto as he had a crush on her when they were in school together and she was the most popular girl in school. She also titles herself Makoto's "assistant" and was used in the tutorial to get the player used to the game mechanics. It is revealed that, while they were in school together, she saw Makoto helping an injured crane and she had wanted to get to know Makoto more but they ended up graduating without talking. Since she is an idol of a popular idol group, she is shown to have a cheerful and supporting personality. However, after Monokuma gives out the "Educational DVDs", Sayaka falls into despair and tries to kill Leon and frame Makoto for it. This plan backfires and she ends up getting murdered instead but with the last of her strength, she writes a dying message that clearly point the killer to be Leon and not Makoto. This shows that Sayaka wanted to make amends with Makoto.
